Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan turns 54 today. Also, named Mr. Perfectionist, he is touted as one of the most popular and influential actors of Indian cinema. No wonder, he has explored every genre through the years and succeeded with flying colors.

The third Khan of the industry has over the years created an image that many look up to. He started his career at the age of 19 in his movie debut with 1984’s Holi. And, further worked in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Dil that made him a star. Then he married Reena Dutta after two years from his debut in which she had a small role in QSQT. Together, they had a daughter Ira and a son Junaid.
The actor went on to work in hits like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Sarfarosh, Raja Hindustani, Akele Hum Akele Tum, and Rangeela. He next worked in Rang De Basanti, Dangal, Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, Dil Chahta Hai, 3 Idiots, Thugs Of Hindustan, Secret Superstar, and many more which earned him great critical acclaim as well. In 2002, Reena and Aamir parted ways, and Reena was given the custody of both the kids. Well, Aamir spoke about Reena with extreme fondness on a recent episode of Koffee With Karan Season 6.
He said,
“Reena and I were married for 16 years and when we broke up it was traumatic for me, for her and both our families. But we tried to deal with it as best as we could. It did not mean that I lost respect for Reena, or for that matter, I lost my love for Reena. She is a really wonderful person.”Further, Aamir married Kiran Rao in 2005 and welcomed their son Azad Rao Khan in 2011. And, now the three live together in their Mumbai home.
On the same day last year, Mr. Perfectionist surprised them by debuting on social media platform Instagram, and that was an additional reason for the Aamir Khan’s fans to celebrate the special day. Unlike Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir preferred to stay away from social media for a long time, but since last year, the actor is active there and left no stones unturned to introduce his fans to various phases of his life.
