BatlaHouseTrailer

The trailer opens as we see John strapping on his bulletproof jacket, and watch his teammates ruthlessly gun down suspects. It could be seen that the film is showing a recreation of the encounter and immediately proceeds to the aftermath.

Soon after, the whole team is asked questions for carrying out an alleged fake encounter. John's character Yadav can be seen awarded by the government but soon questioned by people as well as his seniors. It shows us that people might get the real truth about Operation Batla House after 11 years and answer the big question - was it a real victory or a cover-up for the Delhi police?

In a slate of nationalistic movies starring (and produced by) John, Batla House is the most recent film. He started the streak with Parmanu - The Story of Pokhran, Satyameva Jayate last year and Romeo Akbar Walter this year. The actor leading as DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav will reportedly tell the story of the encounter, and also the subsequent controversy it attracted.

Many of the scenes in the trailer were powerful enough like the one where DCP Yadav conducts the various phases of investigation related to the encounter. John’s character remains stoic as he delivers passionate speeches, amid protests by the public, government pressure, and a media trial. Also, the trailer showed him crushing a mobile phone with his bare hands. Moreover, the trailer spiced up with the special dance number of Nora Fatehi.

Here is All You Need to Know About 2008 Batla House Encounter:

On 19 September 2008, officially known as Operation Batla House or the Batla House encounter, it happened against suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists who stayed in the Batla House located in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. Two suspected terrorists were arrested while two others were killed.

During the operation, cop Mohan Chand Sharma, encounter specialist, was also killed. Later, teachers and students of Jamia Millia Islamia University, plus several human rights organizations, questioned the authenticity of the encounter.

Earlier, in an interview, John talked about his character in the film and said,

"The responsibility is even bigger as this is the first time I am playing someone who is still serving. If he (Sanjeev Kumar) thinks I am not good enough, he can shoot me (laughs!). So, I better be good at portraying him in the film. There were times when I was tempted to take creative liberties, but I refrained from that; I wanted to be true to the character. It was interesting playing him, but it was difficult, too, because it is a strong and conflicting character. A lot has happened in his life post the Batla House incident and to present that on screen was difficult. It’s like walking on a double-edged sword and you don’t want to tilt either way. So, this is not Nikkhil (Advani, director) or my version of a story that we want people to believe in, but this is what it is we believe in, factually."
Later while talking about the perspective around the whole operation, Abraham stated,
"Batla House is not anti or pro any community or political establishment. It’s a story of this man’s life and what he went through. To put it in simple words, it’s a story of one man’s life. I am aware that there will be conflicting views even if you stick to facts as closely as possible. However, the idea is to build a conversation and I hope we have done that with this film. One way of looking at it is to show different perspectives to the story and the other is to make the audience think and give them a reason for a constructive argument."
Apart from John, Batla House also stars Mrunal Thakur, Prakash Raj, and Ravi Kishan. The movie is slated to hit the screens on August 15. Moreover, it will clash against most awaited movie Saaho starring Prabhas and most anticipated flick Mission Mangal starring Akshay Kumar on box office.

Let’s see which one wins the hearts of people the most!
