#AliaBhatt Looks Convincing as Mafia Queen in SLB’s Gangubai Kathiawadi

The first-look posters of Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi, which stars Alia Bhatt in the titular role, were released earlier today. The Raazi actor shared her mafia queen avatar for the movie over her official social media handles.

The movie is based on the life of Mumbai's mafia boss named Gangubai Kathiawadi, who was a sex worker and soon became an underworld don. According to the reports, the flick is based on some portion of the book named Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi. In the posters, Alia can be seen in never-seen-before looks, which are truly intense and convincing.

She introduced both the looks of her new on-screen avatar over the social media and wrote-

The official handle of Bhansali Productions tweeted the first looks with the caption-

In the two posters, she can be seen in a younger and slightly older avatar. In one of the posters, Alia carries a gun for an accessory. Also, her left cheek has a mole, and her neatly parted hair is braided with ribbons.

In another poster, Alia’s eyes speak volumes. Also, she looks like a more mature person, and she sports a red bindi that was considered symbolic of Gangubai’s rise in Mumbai's underworld.

On the work front, Alia was last seen in Kalank and Gully Boy the last year. And the movie also stars Ajay Devgn as a mobster and falls for Alia’s character as he teaches her the trade tricks. This flick marks Alia’s first collaboration with the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

It is produced by Pen Movies and Bhansali Productions. It would release in theatres on 11 September 2020.
