Sooraj Pancholi Pays Tribute to Soldiers With His Film #SatelliteShankar

After being ‘Hero’ four years back, actor Sooraj Pancholi is all set to make a comeback to the film industry being a soldier. Yes, here we are talking about one intriguing trailer released yesterday, i.e., Satellite Shankar.

If we talk about the character of Sooraj in the film, he plays a happy-go-lucky soldier who wants to do service for his country in any way he can. It is shown in the clip that he is to ask for a few days’ leaves to visit his mother. Shankar goes on an epic road trip to his home town after he finally gets some time off, but along the way, he gets entangled in one adventure after another.

There is an incident in particular in the video, where he’s forced to rough up some goons that propel him to overnight fame. The film seems to show the way country’s people (mis)treats its soldiers and eventually turns into kind of a tribute -- both to the Shankar as well as his fellow soldiers, and also movie told the importance of casual leaves, especially for a soldier.

He is showcased as an offbeat soldier who keeps the mood at his border camp cheerful with his lively spirit. Well, seeing the soldier uniform and camps, you might be thinking that the film will deal with wars or any tense situation. But guess what, it doesn’t. Yes, rather than that, the flick will take the audience on a self-discovery journey as the soldier will unite the nation on his vacation, exploring the beauty of the country.

At multiple locations, i.e., across ten different states, the movie has been shot. To understand the soldiers well as Sooraj was playing the role of one, he spent considerable time with soldiers at actual army camps in places like Chitkut, Amritsar, and Pathankot for playing his character.

South actress Megha Akash is also making her Bollywood debut with 'Satellite Shankar,’ who is a popular face in the Telugu and Tamil films. Megha will play the female lead alongside Sooraj.

Sooraj, the son of actors Zarina Wahab and  Aditya Pancholi, made his Bollywood debut in Hero back in 2015. The film also featured fellow debutante, Athiya Shetty.

Salman Khan, who produced Sooraj’s first film and launched the poster for this one, is also rumored to have a cameo appearance in the flick.

Sooraj in an interview with The Times of India talked about the film and said,

"I have always wanted to play a soldier in a classic war or an action film. But this is not a war film, it’s not an action film, it’s a drama. The movie is about the life of every soldier – of what they see and feel in personal life."

He added,

"It’s not about a soldier’s life at the base camp. It is about a soldier, who is on leave and is going to meet his mother. It’s what he faces through the journey while travelling through India. So, it is looking at India from a soldier’s point of view."

The movie Satellite Shankar also reveals how our country becomes united for one soldier who is on a path of self-discovery.

Written by Vishal Vijay Kumar and helmed by Irfan Kamal, 'Satellite Shankar' will clash with Riteish Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra starrer thriller ‘Marjaavaan.’ Both films will also hit the screens on November 15.
