Bala's First Song #DontBeShy Out, Dr. Zeus Threatens of Legal Action

Bala is one most anticipated movies of the year. And, after teaser and trailer, the makers of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 'Bala' dropped their first single 'Don't Be Shy' from the film. However, it is the recreated version of a song by Dr. Zeus and  Rouge with the same name.

The video of the song features Ayushmann Khurrana in a ‘bald’ avatar, grooving to the song's melody and is also seen struggling to hide his bald-patch with a wig. However, the song has kept some of the original portions intact, which made it a super hit.

Apart from Ayushmann, the song also features Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar tapping in on the nostalgia factor, performing some catchy hook steps to the tune we all know so well. The music video gives off major retro vibes with a bright color scheme and the cast dressed in colorful costumes.

However, since the day trailer released, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala seems to have become synonymous with legal troubles and controversies. At first, the Ujda Chaman Director Abhishek Pathak filed a case against the producers of Bala, and now musician Dr. Zeus has called them out for picking his hit numbers Kangna Tera Ni and Don’t Be Shy without his consent.

Dr. Zeus wrote,

“Are u guys taking the piss @sonymusicindia @MaddockFilms @Its_Badshah @SonyMusicUK @SachinJigarLive wen did u compose don’t b shy & kangna.. more to the point how dare u guys b riding off ma old hits & fuckin them up??? Ya need to get original🖕🏽My lawyers will b in touch🖕🏽”

After this tweet went viral, Badshah took to his Twitter handle and said that he respects Dr. Zeuss and will clear the misunderstanding if there is any.

“I am aware of the situation around ‘Dont be shy’. I want to start by saying that i love And respect @drzeusworld paaji immensely and he knows it. He has the right to get angry with me because he’s my senior and ive learnt a lot from him. And he is the last person id want (contd)”

He added in another tweet,

“to go through something like this. I got on the song, which has been recreated by my dear friends Sachin Jigar, only after making sure we had the necessary rights. But still if there’s any misunderstanding, ill make sure it gets cleared asap. I support Zeus Paaji.
Badshah”

While talking about the idea of recreating the cult song, composer duo Sachin-Jiar said,

“The song certainly brings back our college memories and I’m sure it’s one of the most popular songs that all of us have danced to. We have taken a few ideas and a lovely hook line from the original song. There’s a lovely flute piece that we have tried to reuse and tried to make it sound more timely and relevant for the youth to enjoy it and at the same time retain Sachin Jigar flavor to it.”

They added,

“The song is relevant to the narrative of the film and we really took up the challenge to redo it in our way. In fact, the bigger challenge was to keep the dignity and the legacy of the original song intact.”

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the flick 'Bala' tells the story of a young man who suffers from premature balding. The film is all set to entertain the audience on November 7.
