‘Mission Mangal’ Trailer: A Complete Blink-And-Miss Action Sequence

After attractive posters and teaser, filmmakers of Mission Mangal finally dropped its trailer yesterday. And, as we assumed, it has all the ingredients of a patriotic film.

The 2-min-52-second video begins with movie lead Akshay Kumar leading a team of talented scientists to work for ISRO on a nearly impossible task. Especially, he wants to fulfill the nation's dream of being a space superpower in limited cost, keeping other things aside.

The movie is based on the real story of a scientist and his team who created history by making India's MOM or Mars Orbiter Mission a success IRL. Akshay playing the role of Mission Director Rakesh Dhawan is the biggest star of the cast. While Vidya Balan, as Tara Shinde, is introduced as the very driven and optimistic Project Director.

Sonakshi Sinha, playing a feisty Eka Gandhi, is an ambitious aspiring space scientist, who joins the mission as the Propulsion Controller. And, Tapsee Pannu plays Kritika Aggarwal who is diligent and newly-married Navigation & Communication Controller.

Apart from this, actress Nithya Menon playing Satellite Designer Varsha Gowda and actress Kirti Kulhari playing character Neha Siddiqui is in charge of Programme Autonomy. Moreover, a very superstitious Parmeshwar Naidu, played by Sharman Joshi, looks after payloads, whereas the veteran actor H.G. Dattatreya is playing the role of the Supervisor Of Structural Design.

The trailer reveals how Rakesh Dhawan, renowned scientist, was reprimanded by his supervisors at ISRO for launching an experimental rocket, which later crashed into the sea but his enduring spirit led him to design an even more determined plan - to transmit a satellite to Mars.

Rakesh Dhawan struggles to procure funding and a team of experienced scientists after being encouraged by Tara Shinde, but all he gets is a bunch of enthusiasts, who believe the project was "impossible" to pull off. But Rakesh Dhawan planned a mission, inspired by Tara Shinde's "home science technique" of making "puri," which made India proud in 2013.

Kumar has done this film for his daughter. He said,

“Mission Mangal, a film which I hope will inspire as much as entertain. A film which I’ve done specially for my daughter and children her age to familiarise them with the incredible true story of India’s mission to Mars.”

The trailer of Mission Mangal is,

"Dedicated to the incredible team of scientists and engineers at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).”

The entire trailer of the flick is an interesting package with cheerful moments, a blink-and-miss action sequence, and Bollywood-Esque dialogues like,

"Humari haar samasya ki marammat agar NASA se karne jayenge toh hum 'satyanasa' ho jayenge."

Like this, there are many more winning and catchy dialogues in the trailer. And, most of them even giving birth to memes. Yes, as it is the trend of making memes out of all the new movies and trailers, even Mission Mangal Trailer inspired hilarious memes.
