In the previous episodes of Star plus serial ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’, we saw Suraj ditched her lovely wife Sandhya (Deepika Singh) just because he felt that she hasn’t done justice to her family. On the other hand, full Rathi family eagerly tried to reunite both Suraj (Anas Rashid) and Sandhya again.
However, 3rd February 2015 episode of the show telecasted with a new twist! We saw Babasa searches for Suraj to watch the live telecast of the Republic day ceremony, but doesn't find him, while Meenakshi passes comments saying that it's not good that Suraj is not present here when his wife (Sandhya) is receiving the bravery award for her courageous act during the hijacking incident. Hearing these comments Babasa and Bhabho feels bad.
Suraj Receive Sandhya’s Bravery Award in Diya Aur Baati Hum

By receiving the award, Suraj feels apologetic and gives a very soulful speech, says he was very selfish and coward at that time that he didn't understand Sandhya’s duty towards the Nation. Sandhya made everyone proud of her and he is happy for her, as she has received this award.

He also said that Sandhya had never been unfaithful with her duty and family. He apologized for insulting her and also said that he is shameful of it. He asks everyone that why Indian men never respect their women, why are women always tested! Women sacrifice so much; they leave their families to take care of the husband's family.Babasa and Bhabho becomes happy that Suraj has finally accepted his fault, while Sandhya too listens to each and every word of Suraj said and cries. At the end Suraj says that now it's Sandhya’s decision that whether she wants to accept his apology or not, but he will wait for her.
