The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the greatest shows that it is always on the list if you are looking for something in the comedy genre. The show, which went off the air in 2017, started again with a bang on December 29, 2018.
And now, the second season of the comedy show, which is all set to complete a year, recently completed 100 episodes, i.e., last weekend. While celebrating the occasion, Akshay Kumar became the host for The Kapil Sharma Show as the team of Good Newwz arrived as guests there.
In the cast of Good Newwz, the show welcomed Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Diljit Dosanjh, and Akshay. Hence, as we mentioned before, it is not Kapil who opened the show, but the Khiladi Kumar took Kapil's role and welcomed his co-stars. And, not only for few minutes or something, but Akshay Kumar hosted more than half of the episode, and Kapil Sharma only took over towards the end.
While doing that, Akshay Kumar shared that it's his mother's favorite show, and he was happy that the show completed 100 episodes. He said,
“I am glad that the show has completed its 100 episodes and that I am part of the celebration. I wish this continues forever and ever and keeps spreading happiness and laughter. My mom loves this show and enjoys watching the show.”
The Kapil Sharma Show was embroiled in controversy in this one year as Twitter users asked the channel to sack Navjot Singh Sidhu for his comments after the Pulwama attack. And further that, Navjot had to step down and was replaced by Archana Puran Singh.
On the completion of 100 episodes, Archana who has been an important part of this journey shares,
“December is the month of celebration for Kapil and for all of us. We have recently welcomed Kapil and Ginni's newborn baby and completed 100 episodes of the show. Journey throughout this season has been worth cherishing with tons of good memories to remember.”
Meanwhile, The Kapil Sharma Show also won several awards at ITA Awards 2019, including Best Show (Comedy) and Best Comedy Chat Show, and Kapil Sharma himself also won Best Comedy Genius award.
The episode was full of fun moments. Like when Akshay Kumar introduced Krushna by referring to Bhanja Massage, he says,
“there is a mama (he is talking about Govinda) jo mehnat karta hai, film industry mein naam banata hai. Uske baad ek sust bhanja (Krushna) aata hai jo uss mama ka naam le lekar logon se paise lutta hai.”
On such an introduction, the entire team of The Kapil Sharma Show burst out into laughter and enjoyed themselves. And, after listening to Akshay's innovative massage, even Krushna laughed at himself.
Further, Akshay Kumar congratulated everyone in the cast of Kapil Sharma Show for entertaining the audience. He then presented an audiovisual of best scenes from all the previous episodes of the show. This got everyone at the show emotional. Meanwhile, Kareena and Kapil joked about Akshay Kumar's blank balance and doing above 100 films.
Further, Kapil spoke about Akshay holding a prescription, which read,
‘‘Listen to whatever your wife says.’’
Following that, Kapil asked Akshay if he takes Twinkle Khanna’s (his wife) advice before doing anything. On that, the actor admitted that he does take Twinkle’s advice before doing everything, and even he never signs a film without her permission.
Akshay Kumar also mentioned that he has come on the show for more than 20 times and told Kapil that he even must be doing the same.
It was a lot of fun this weekend, where Kammo Bua entertained all with her one-liners. Sapna gifted Kareena Kapoor onion earrings and also joked about onions being expensive in Nalasopara and offered Ki and Ka massage for her.
The celebration of the 100th episode did not end here as it continued in Saturday’s episode as well, where Kapil invited musicians and composers of ‘Chandigarh Mein,’ which includes Badshah, DJ Chetas, Lisa Mishra, Hardy Sandhu, Asees Kaur, and Tanishk Bagchi.
While introducing the musicians, Kapil cracked a joke that why Badshah doesn’t lose weight. He explains that nowadays, each song has around 6-7 music composers. And Badshah wants to look prominent on the cover of the song. Watch the promo, which was earlier posted, here.
