'Tevar' Movie Opening Weekend Box Office Collection: Below the Mark

Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Tevar’ movie had an atrocious opening at the Box office. The movie directed by Amit Sharma hit 3000 screens on 9 January. But, reportedly the movie’s box office collection on Friday was only 7.05 crore.

Extremely low occupancy was recorded on the first day morning shows of the movie and it stayed constant until the evening. Tevar box office collection had almost similar response from the viewers on Saturday as well. The third day collection of the film was around 24 crore. Apparently, it was expected by the maker that the movie would bring around 25 crore in its first weekend.

The film 'Tevar' is the remake of ‘Okkadu’ a Telugu film. In fact its Tamil version Ghilli was also a big hit. Sanjay Kapoor and Boney Kapoor’s film is a story of a kabbadi player (Arjun Kapoor) who escapes a girl (Sonakshi Sinha) from Manoj Bajpai, a dangerous leader.

The action Drama movie ‘Tevar’ was unsuccessful to beat the opening weekend collections of the movies Gunday and 2 States of Arjun, which managed to collect around 43 crore and 38 crore respectively.

"An actor always wants to do selective work and concentrate on one film at a time. What I mean is that I would like to do one film at a time and put all my efforts into it."

The actor later added- "I am going to slow down to plan things better so that I can focus on one film at a time, and promote the film, and hopefully shoot the other film after that.”
