#SaandKiAankhTrailer: Tale of Two Unusually Talented Shooter Daadis

And it’s finally here! Well, we are talking about Tappsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar's Saand Ki Aankh’s trailer which has been released. Since the day its intriguing posters revealed, it became a much-talked-about film.

The film is a  biopic based on the life of Haryana-based sharpshooters, Prakashi and Chandro Tomar, played by Taapsee and Bhumi, respectively.

The 3-minutes-06-seconds clip starts with Prakash Jha, in the role of Ratan Singh, saying,

"Ye bandook mazak na hai. Ye mardo ka gehna hai aur mardo ke hath he achhi lage hai."

And, in the next scene, we can see Chandro firing at the bull's eye and that too effortlessly. Soon after that, she is joined by Prakashi, the other shooter. Prakashi and Chandro both want their granddaughters to learn shooting so that they don't have to live the same abused life, similar to their grandmothers.

The story showcases that both Prakashi and Chandro discover their talent and love for shooting at the age of 60 in an attempt to make their granddaughters learn shooting. The rest of the trailer reveals their fight against society, and how they overcome many hurdles to win medals for the country.

Taapsee, who is playing the role of Prakashi, told  in an interview,

“To play the role of a woman, who against all odds, picked up the gun and shot her way to glory and success at that age, has been so inspiring. While shooting for the film, I lived with them in their house. I saw how both of them encourage the game of sharp shooting. Despite coming from a rural place, these two women have shown me that Indian women are no less than anyone else in the world when it comes to sports, strong will and fighting for their dream.”

Further, Tapsee praised Bhumi for her acting. She said,

“When I used to see her prep, I would feel like such a useless actor. Plus, she knows how to use her surroundings, and the props around. Not many actors do it, but Bhumi is intelligent and does that.”

Director Tushar Hiranandani said in an interview,

“Taapsee and Bhumi have both completely got into the skin of the dadis’ characters and given their 100% to their roles in the film.”

The movie Saand Ki Aankh has been co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. He said,

“I instantly loved the story that Tushar shared with me. The trailer is just a peek into the inspirational story of the Revolver Dadis that deserves to be told to all.”

Moreover, Taapsee lived with Chandro and Prakashi at their house in Haryana to get into the character of Prakashi. Talking about her stay in their village, Tapsee shared a post on her Instagram handle and captioned it as,

“Staying at Chandro Daadi’s house! ❤️
No stay in 5 star hotel can match this experience!
Staying in Chandro Daadi’s house for the entire shoot in Johri village of #SaandKiAankh was probably one of my best decisions ever. This family has now become an inseparable part of my life.
Here is a glimpse of the time I staying with Chandro daadi in her own house in Johri Village :) #SaandKiAankh ThisDiwali”

The film will probably clash with Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer comedy Housefull 4, which is all set to hit the screens on October 25. Till then, watch its trailer here!
