After getting support from the well-known names of Bollywood, Aamir Khan much-appreciated movie ‘PK’ is even getting support from politicians. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has exempted the movie ‘PK’ from entertainment tax amid the protest against the movie.

CM Akhilesh Yadav Exempted ‘PK’ From Tax in UP

Lately, the CM of UP watched Aamir Khan’s PK movie, which is encountering protests ever since its release. Apparently, Akhilesh Yadav liked the film so much that he decided to make the movie tax free in Uttar Pradesh!

“Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has watched the movie and has directed that films like Aamir Khan’s Bollywood movie ‘PK’ should be exempted from the entertainment tax,” said a senior officer.
Many outfits and activists are protesting against the movie and even burnt the statue of Aamir Khan to hinder the screening of the film in Bareilly, however Chief Minister Akhilesh eulogized the film saying that the film contains a message which should get across everyone. The CM even criticized those people and outfits who are opposing the film.
“It has a message and this should reach everybody’s heart and mind. Those who have not seen the movie should go and watch it. You will surely understand why I took this decision… I took a decision to make it tax-free so that maximum number of people can watch it,” said Mr. Akhilesh Yadav.

BJP Targeting Akhilesh’s Decision; is it a Political Tactic?

BJP on the other hand zero in on Akhilesh saying that he is trying to provoke certain groups with such statements.
“Any government should try and douse protests. Here, the chief minister himself is becoming a party to the controversy,” said BJP’s spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak.
