The Indian film director Ritesh Batra who also directed ‘Lunch Box’ is back with one new movie ‘Photograph.’ And its trailer hit the internet late on Monday. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Badhaai Ho actress Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles. No wonder it's an unusual combination for an understated romantic love story.

The 2 minutes 34 seconds video describes the story of a struggling street photographer in Mumbai whose grandmother pressured him to marry asap. Further, he convinces a shy stranger to pose as his fiancée. And, further, the duo develops a bond that molds them in ways beyond their thinking.

Simply the movie is a story of two strangers who meet at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. One of them is Rafi a photographer, played by Nawazuddin in the film who gets along with Miloni, a student who has topped the CA Foundation exam and is preparing for CA Inter, played by Sanya. He insists that she should get clicked for the sake of memories.

Then after some series of events, they travel to Nawazuddin’s village and meet his grandmother to present Sanya as her “bahu (Daughter-in-law).” Meanwhile, Rafi convinces Sanya to play the part of daughter-in-law for a while after he gets to know that his grandmother has quit taking her medicines insisting that he must marry soon.

Well, there is nothing melodramatic or flashy about the entire trailer, but the sentiments are relatable.

The movie “Photograph” was recently screened at the Berlin Film Festival and was also premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. It also starred Sachin Khedekar, Robin Das, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Denzil Smith, Jim Sarbh, and Farrukh Jaffar (Rafi’s grandmother).

According to the producers, Photograph is the tale of “a struggling street photographer in Mumbai who, pressured to marry by his grandmother, convinces a shy stranger to pose as his fiancée. Subsequently, the pair develop a connection that transforms them in ways they could not expect.”

On the release of the trailer of the film, Nawazuddin shared it on his Twitter account and captioned it,

“प्यारी दादी आपकी बहु को लेकर आ रहा हूँ 15 मार्च को... नज़दीकी सिनमाघरों में। तब तक उसकी ये झलक देख लीजिये।। Trailer Out Now #Photograph @riteshbatra @sanyamalhotra07 @AmazonStudios @PhotographAmzn”
