Alia Bhatt is the name which is coming frequently to play the lead role in the movie. But, if the sources have to be believed then 'Heropanti' famed Kriti Sanon is also strongly being considered for the role.

After the success of “2 States”, Half Girlfriend is the next novel of Chetan Bhagat which is all set for being translated into a feature film. “Half Girlfriend” the novel is based on a rural-urban love story, and is all geared up to hit the bookshelves. Apparently Chetan has joined hands with Ekta Kapoor and Mohit Suri for the big screen adaptation of his “Half Girlfriend”.
However there is still a big question mark on the name of the actress who would get signed for the main lead. Alia Batta and Kriti Sanon are the names which are strongly being considered for the lead, as per the sources.
