As much as people are waiting for the flick “Manikarnika,” people are curious about its songs. And finally, on Wednesday, team Manikarnika released the new patriotic anthem “Vijayi Bhava.”
This courageous and patriotic song is penned by ace lyricist Prasoon Joshi (CBFC chairperson) and composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Along with Shankar Mahadevan’s singing, it also includes the voices of Shrinidhi Ghatate, Prajakta Shukre, Ravi Mishra, Mohammed Arshad and Mani Mahadevan in its powerful chorus.
The 2.41-minute video features Kangana Ranaut training her people—both men and women—with courage, grit, and patriotism for the battle against the East India Company to protect her homeland Jhansi. Along with Ranaut, actors Ankita Lokhande and Danny Denzongpa are also seen in the video of the song.
Undoubtedly, Shankar Mahadevan, the musical maestro has given a magic touch to the music with his soulful interpretation to the recording. There is a musical depth in the track with melodies and patriotic emotion. This is another legendary musical track composed by trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy.
About the Manikarnika’s music, Shankar Mahadevan said,
“In any musician’s career, a film like Manikarnika becomes a landmark dream project, which is challenging and musically enriching at the same time. I think we have been lucky enough to be offered projects like these and even after 50 years we can look back and say that we were proud ones to create music for this historical epic. The songs have got musical depth, a lot of melody and emotion of patriotism. It is indeed a proud moment for us.”
In the context of the song, the highest paid actress in Bollywood Kangana Ranaut said,
"Vijayi Bhava was recorded first, and is a massive scale song of war preparation. I've never done something of this nature before. It is upscale and has a high tempo which will be celebrated".
Well, strong performance and the captivating looks of Kangana are to be applauded. It is one very beautiful and vigorous song which will surely give you goosebumps.
The release of the film will clash with one of the Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s masterpieces, Thackeray the biopic on late Bal Thackeray who was the Shiv Sena supremo. On that, Kangana said,
“Neither anyone told us to postpone the release date nor there was any kind of pressure on us. No one even approached us. So we are very happy that we have a sort of a big window, there is a vacation around."
The magnum opus 'Manikarnika-The Queen Of Jhansi is one of the much-awaited period films of the year. It has been the talk of the town since the trailer launch. The film is slated to release on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages simultaneously.
