#Chhichhore Review: A Relevant Message on Academic Success & Failure

School or college life days are the golden periods of anyone’s life. And, if we are asked about those days of our life, most of us go into flashback mode and think of it. The time when friends were equal to the family. No doubt that whenever you see a group of carefree college students, nostalgia, accompanied by envy, hits you the moment because time moves only in one direction.

And, the moment you will watch Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari's new film Chhichhore, you will feel the same way. The director did not fail a moment in evoking our college memories. This movie is another evidence that no matter the generation, college dramas are something that the audience has always leaned on.

As far as the box office is concerned, the movie collected around 7 crores on its opening day and rose to Rs 12.25 crore on 2nd day, i.e., Saturday. Given that the makers have released the movie in only about 1,200-1,300 screens, it could be considered as a decent start. However, the business of the film is also affected by Saaho, Prabhas' big-budget film, as it is still dominating the Indian market.

Well, the film collected around Rs 16 crore on Sunday, the third day of release, which took the total to Rs 35.57 crore as a 3-day BO collection.

In an interview with IndiaToday, Nitesh Tiwari had said,

"I am not taking any pressure as far as box office is concerned. Only pressure which weighs on my mind is the expectations that people may have from me post Dangal and I hope I will be able to live up to their expectations. As far as box office is concerned, that's pure destiny."

Taran Adarsh also posted BO collection,

“#Chhichhore jumps [67.35%] on Day 2... Glowing word of mouth is converting into enhanced footfalls and in turn, reflecting in its BO numbers... Expect further growth on Day 3... Eyes ₹ 35 cr [+/-] total in its weekend... Fri 7.32 cr, Sat 12.25 cr. Total: ₹ 19.57 cr. #India biz.”

He earlier tweeted,

“#Chhichhore goes from strength to strength on Day 1... Witnessed a big turnaround in evening and night shows... Word of mouth has come into play, which will translate into solid growth on Day 2 and 3... Weekend biz is sure to spring a big surprise... Fri ₹ 7.32 cr. #India biz.”

The story is about six collegemates and a girl and their journey from being losers to choosers. Shraddha Kapoor (Maya) and Sushant Singh Rajput (Anirudh) play a divorced couple, and they have a reunion of sorts with their college buddies, though in rather unwanted circumstances.

Together, they relive their old college memories while recalling all the good and bad times spent almost 20 years ago in college life. The screenplay takes a trip down memory lane through college hostels, canteen conversations, and sports grounds; switches to the present day, and you see the same fellowship in their friendship that was formed in college.

Loaded with comic punches, one-liners, brilliant writing makes Chhichhore a winner.

While reviewing the movie, movie critic Taran Adarsh wrote,

“#OneWordReview... Chhichhore: DELIGHTFUL. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari is in top form yet again... Has several brilliant moments... Three aces: Emotions, humour, finale... Sushant, Shraddha, Varun excel... Could’ve done with shorter run time. #ChhichhoreReview”

Well, must say that for ensuring that the humor is not even remotely slapstick, full credit to the writers.

Apart from Shraddha Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput, Chhichhore stars Fuckrey fame Varun Sharma, Ashish Kumar, Prateik Babbar in key roles.

Chhichhore is a relevant and relatable movie with a message on the inherent attitude towards academic success and failure that will connect today’s parents as well as with many youngsters. If you don’t see it with your friends, we assure you that you might want to call your college buddies after the film.

Watch it for its gripping narrative, uncomplicated screenplay, and some stellar performances that will surely leave you overwhelmed.
