#ChhapaakTrailer Will Give You Goosebumps & Chills from Start to End

Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, which will release next year in January. The movie stars Deepika Padukone in a pivotal role. And, the trailer of the film has just been launched.

In Chhapaak movie, Deepika Padukone is playing the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. The 2-minute-20-second video shows the journey of Malti (Deepika's character in the flick). It revolves around how she hates her face after the attack and then further learns to love it. Even the film shows how Malti commences a campaign to prevent acid attacks in the country by controlling the sale of acid.

The trailer of Chhapaak also shows how Vikrant Massey, playing the role of Amol, helps her in this struggle to get the sale of acid banned. Other then all, some Glimpses of Malti and  Amol's brewing love can also be seen in the clip.

While introducing the trailer on Instagram, Deepika Padukone wrote,

“Chhapaak Trailer
Rarely do you come across a story where you do not need an entire narration to decide if you want to be a part of a film or not. What is even more rare is to not be able to articulate and put into words what you feel for the film and it’s journey...
Chhapaak is all of that and more for me...

After the trailer of the film was shown to people present at the launch event, Deepika Padukone was asked to talk about Chhapaak, and while talking about it, she broke down. She said,

"Maine sirf iss moment ke baare main socha tha ki aap log trailer dekhenge aur fir humein stage main aana hai. Uske baad humein kuch bolna hai iske baare main toh maine socha nahi tha (I thought that we will be called upon the stage after you watch the trailer. I didn't know that I will have to speak after that)."

She added,

"It's not often when you come across a story where you have to sit through an entire narration. Usually you have to sit through entire process and then decide whether you want to do a film or not. It's not often when you come across a story where you know instantly in the first few minutes of meeting a director that it is. We have made the film with a lot of love, lot of passion, lot of enthusiasm and with a lot of responsibility."

Earlier, during a Lit for Life 2019 session held in Chennai when Meghna, the director of the flick, asked about casting Deepika in the role, she had said,

"You won’t be seeing Deepika, you know. You will be seeing a disfigured Deepika."

Adding that, she said the film would show people the havoc that violence can wreak in a person’s life.

Talking about her film, Deepika Padukone earlier told news agency IANS,

"It's a very important film and I feel that the story which we are showcasing in our film needs to be told."

For those who don't know, the film marks Deepika's first project as a producer plus the first film after her marriage to Ranveer Singh. And next, she will be seen in ’83, Kapil Dev’s biopic, in the role of his wife.

The movie will showcase the story of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid attack survivor who was attacked in 2005 by a 32-year-old man after she rejected his proposal. The film will also star Rohit Sukhwani other than Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey. Chhapaak, co-produced by Fox Star Studios and Deepika Padukone, is slated to hit the screens on January 10 next year.
