Whenever we talk about ageless actors, the first name pops up into everyone’s mind is ‘Anil Kapoor.’ Since Anil Kapoor stepped foot in Bollywood, this year marked 36 years, and the actor continues to reign the hearts of the audiences the way he did in his earlier days.
Recently in an interview with a media channel, he was asked that what does he think that about his last few years of the acting career. Like, does he consider them a golden phase?
On that, he said,
“I think I have been having a golden time since I began! I pray to God that this continues, and I get to act in films that can be watched again and again 10, 30 or 50 years down, like the best films of Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and many others. I think that films made with lots of heart and soul always connect with the audience. And be it a “Hum Aapke Hain Koun!...,” “Sholay” or my “No Entry,” such movies remain evergreen, across generations.”
Further, Anil was asked how come there is always a slight joy to even his most serious characters. In response to this, he said,
“I would agree with you only to about 70 percent! Maybe I always get attracted to characters who do not take themselves very seriously! Life is short, am I right or wrong? So if you put in a bit of humor and make people smile, it’s great. But there were films in which there was nothing light. In my television show “24,” I did not smile at all!”
Anil is also a proud father, along with being a successful actor himself, as his three kids are also doing well in the industry. Harsh Vardhan and Sonam K Ahuja are actors, and younger daughter Rhea is a producer.
Among all of them, Sonam was the first one in the family to follow daddy’s footsteps, but unlike her fellows, she has always taken her time in taking up films. There are speculations that maybe, she is planning to go the family way with her husband Anand S Ahuja, and that’s why she is slowing down in the professional space.
On this statement, Anil said,
“It’s not the question of… family is very important (but) Sonam has always been selective. For her to balance her priorities are much easier. She always had a lot of time. After Neerja (2016), a blockbuster, she didn’t do a film for one year after that too! She waits for the right film and role to come to her, and then does it. That has really helped her balance her professional and personal career. I don’t think she has slowed down. There are a lot of films being offered to her, she has only said yes to filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh’s film.”
“She has always been fortunate she was in a position to be very choosy. If you see in the last 11 years of her career, she has hardly done any films. I think that’s great, if you can be choosy. She does what the heart says.”
On the professional front, Anil Kapoor will be next seen in Anees Bazmee’s Pagalpanti, which is all set to release tomorrow that is 22 November 2019. No wonder people are excited to watch the film since the trailer launch only.
