On Saturday Sep 27, Akshay Kumar in the presence of his entire star cast he revealed the trailer of his upcoming release “The Shaukeens“. Directed by Abhishek Sharma and written by Tigmanshu Dhulia, film ‘The Shaukeens’ is a tribute to the original film Shaukeen. The Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Lisa Haydon starrer movie will be out on November 7.

“I am playing myself in the film and the only thing that was added in my character was that I was shown as an alcoholic in the movie which is different from my real life character. I had a great time shooting for this film” said Kumar.

On the other hand Anupam Kher was too overwhelmed about the film and said "This film is a tribute to the original film. We hope this film is taken further and runs next 25 years".
For the filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, it is the first time to deliver a comedy movie and thus when asked why hasn’t he directed the movie himself? He replied “I was busy doing other films and I thought Abhishek Sharma was apt to direct this film. I was scared to direct this film so I asked Abhishek Sharma to direct.”
