The leading Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee alongside Sushant Singh Rajput in his upcoming flick, ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’, stirred a controversy when was accused of shoplifting in a Singapore showroom.
What CCTV Footage Says About Swastika Mukherjee?
The Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee who has been lately in Singapore for attending a Bengali film festival Darpan, caught lifting a pair of gold earrings and tucking it into her bag. The actress went on shopping with Sumon Mukopadhyay, a Benali film director, when she was accused of shoplifting a pair of gold earrings from a Singapore jewellery showroom.

Where the shopkeeper concludes that, "Our CCTV cameras have caught her lifting the piece of jewellery and then putting it in her handbag. She hasn't paid for it. We have already appealed to her to pay for the item as it costs $250. We are waiting for a response from her. We don't want to make a hue and cry about it. We just want her to return our jewellery to us if she doesn't wish to buy it,"
What Swastika Defended Saying?
On the contrary, the actress justified that, "I don't know how it got into my bag. Perhaps it was by accident. But I have bought other jewellery from the store and I have got receipts for it,"
Well reportedly this isn’t the first time for Swastika Mukherjee to become any controvercy’s favorite child.
