She is presently busy in the promotion of her upcoming flick Akira. In an interview she was asked how her parents feel and react to all these rumors. She said –
“My dad doesn’t get into it at all because he has been through it more than me. But my mother being a mother sometimes gets worried. So I have to really pacify and calm her down. She wonders why are they writing about her daughter and she gets protective about me.”

“If it is only affecting me, I can ignore it. If you are going to drag my family and friends into it, that is not good. That is when I feel like I need to take a stand because people need to realise that along with the person that you are writing about, you affect a lot of people around them which is not right and they have nothing to do with your work or your life outside of how you are with them. I feel that is not right.”
