Last year, in December, the poster of 'Simmba' was unveiled, and finally, on Monday, the official trailer of Simmba came out!

After the successful release of Padmaavat, Ranveer Singh is back with his most mainstream masala film ever “Simmba” directed by Rohit Shetty.

It is the Hindi remake of a Telugu film Temper came in 2015 which stars Jr NTR, a corrupt cop who later becomes a crusader of women’s safety after a girl he treats as his younger sister gets raped.

After Ranveer Singh's tweet on 1st December about trailer release, his fans were eager to see the trailer.

Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also casts Sara Ali Khan as Ranveer’s romantic interest, Ashutosh Rana as a senior cop and Sonu Sood in a negative role. Since Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath is slated to release on December 7, Simmba will be Sara’s second film.

The trailer is of 2.54 minute but, other than Ranveer, none of the actors get much screen time. At the beginning of the trailer, Ajay Devgn introduces Ranveer’s character (Sangram Bhalerao) as a kid who dreams of becoming a cop from the time Ajay was serving to Shivgarh and saving it from corrupt politicians. The trailer hints at Simmba being a spin-off of Rohit’s 2011 blockbuster Singham. Not only for introduction, but Ajay Devgan also made a great entry in his Singham style at the end of the trailer.

Even if the movie is based on Telugu flick Temper, Rohit Shetty said, “Though the movie is based on Temper, there are merely a few plot points which are similar. It’s an entirely new story. It is my best-written film to date.”

When Ranveer Singh was asked about Deepika’s reaction to the trailer at trailer launch, he said, “Rohit sir (Rohit Shetty) ne mere birthday ke din unko kuch rushes dikhaye. Woh zyada react nahin karti hai kabhi bhi kisi bhi cheez mein life mein. Bas screen off hua aur meri taraf dekh ke bolti hai, ‘Hot Lag Raha Hai’.”

Well, a lot of people shared their views after the special screening of the trailer.
