You might remember Shweta Basu Prasad the 11 year old cute and bubbly girl played the lead role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2002 film 'Makdee'. She had won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for this film. After which she featured in several TV serials 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' and 'Karishma Kaa Karishma' and also worked in a few Bollywood films Iqbal and Darna Zaroori Hai. Shweta then tried her destiny in the South and Telugu film industry, where she became fairly successful.
Tollywood actress, unfortunate turn of events, the actress, now 23, was arrested red handed on Sunday, August 31 for being involved in a high profile prostitution scandle according to a report in Pinkvilla. Reportedly, the actress was arrested when the Hyderabad Police raided a famous Park Hyatt hotel in Banjara Hills over the weekend.
In the raid, police also held several high profile businessmen from metro cities along with Shweta. Later on, the actress also released a statement in which she said that she was out of money and had no any other means to support her family. This isn’t the first time the actress was caught in a sticky situation. Earlier too, Shweta allegedly was caught in a compromising position during a sting operation.
Shweta in her media statement said, “I have made wrong choices in my career, and I was out of money. I had to support my family and some other good causes. All the doors were closed, and some people encouraged me to get into prostitution to earn money. I was helpless, and with no option left to choose, I got involved in this act. I’m not the only one who faced this problem, and there are several other heroines who have gone through this phase.”
