Ever since the time, the director has never uttered anything wrong about his ex-wife on the matter of his divorce, in fact he also asserted that he respects her as she gave six years of her life to him. He kept on saying that it’s him or shortcomings in him that made her leave him. The Bombay velvet director accepted that he isn’t good at relationships and what happened between the two would remain between them.
"Kalki is a great actress. What happened between us, why we went separate ways... all that remains between us. But she gave me six years of her life. I respect her for what she is; she really changed my life. Even if she left me, it's because the shortcoming is in me... I am not good at relationships,"
