It’s day four after the release of the ‘Gully Boy’ and the craze for the movie is not stopping but increasing day-by-day. Undoubtedly, the direction of Zoya Akhtar has impressed the audience with its easy-to-connect storyline, impactful rap numbers as well as performances.

Not only the film collected Rs 19.40 crore on its opening day but has also got good reviews from film critics plus the audience.

As we could see in the trailer announcement, the musical drama is based on the life of rappers Naezy and Divine. And, it has Ranveer Singh playing the character of underdog rapper Murad Sheikh and Alia playing the character of his love interest Safeena. The entire flick revolves around Murad (Ranveer) struggling off poverty and hindrances that come his way as he strives to be a popular rapper. However, the film shows how the lead actor is determined not to let his circumstances restrict his ambition.

What powers the movie most is an extraordinary performance from Ranveer Singh as Murad and the lyrics of each track which have as much emotion as the story and performances.

Many great people praised Ranveer Singh and among them, Will Smith, Grammy award-winning rap artist was also all praise for Ranveer's performance in the flick. He congratulated through a video dedicated to Ranveer and said,

"Yo, Ranveer! Congrats, man! I am loving what you are doing with Gully Boy. For me, old school hip-hop here, seeing hip-hop all over the world like that... I am loving it, man. Congrats, go get 'em,"
