Akshay Kumar Starrer PadMan to Screen at Tokyo International Film Festival

Directed by R Balki, and produced by Twinkle R Khanna, Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte starrer movie PadMan is going to screen at the Tokyo International Film Festival. After a successful premiere in the US, Russia, Canada, Iraq and Ivory Coast, the film is now all set to entertain the Japanese audience. TIFF is a 9-day film festival that will be organized at Roppongi Hills Theater from 25 October to 3 November 2018 in Minato City, Tokyo.

Talking about the film, PadMan is based on Twinkle Khanna's book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad, the real-life story of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham from Tamil Nadu who invents the low-cost sanitary pad-making machine and creates awareness around menstruation taboo in rural India. Akshay Kumar played the lead role of Lakshmikant which was based on Mr. Muruganantham. The movie was both critical and commercial success and earned Rs 120 crores worldwide.

Akshay Kumar went on to share the news on social media on how “excited” he is about the film’s screening at the 31st edition of the Tokyo International Film Festival 2018. Sharing the Japanese poster of the movie on his Instagram handle, he wrote:
